Setting Priorities, Deadlines and New Projects

Journalled on Monday, 6th of February 2023 | Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 32 degrees, very hot and sunny.

In the afternoon, I had to collect money from a student and pay Dona Vera at Belli Occhi Otica. It’s an optician’s where I have been buying glasses for years. The shop is in the same gallery where I used to have my school before the pandemic.

It is also where I purchase my beads for my bracelets. I have been wearing bracelets since I was a teenager, and for the last ten years or so, I have been wearing bead bracelets, a simpler but more elegant kind of bracelet. Their understated beauty draws attention wherever I go.

Yasmin won’t be with me this weekend, so I plan to make some bead bracelets to start selling soon. I’m setting everything up, including stock, a brand name, a site, etc. I’m not satisfied with the brand name; I need to come up with something better.

The name is essential; I must choose one that clearly conveys what the bracelets are for. This small but interesting business has a lot of potential, and I am very passionate about it.

Setting a deadline for the bracelet business is crucial. A project without a deadline is a dream with no priority or urgency. A deadline is essential for addressing pending issues, projects, problems, etc. Even if the deadline isn’t met 100%, it’s still a priority, not just a thought or a talk.

If something is essential to your future, it is a priority and needs a deadline. Setting a deadline for the bracelet business or any other project is crucial to give it the attention and importance it deserves.

My elder daughter, Jessica, worries me a little; she messaged me, and I replied right away. I’m not sure whether she is happy. Still, I want to know she’s okay, despite our distant relationship.
