Saturday, the 13th of May 2023: “Lunch And Shopping with Yasmin”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 22 °C, warmish, sunny, slightly overcast and with heavy rain later.

Surprisingly, even though Friday was difficult due to money issues, Saturday has been ok!

I have enough money to take Yasmin for lunch, so I am ok. Nalva is working the whole day, so this helps, too.

I got up early, went to Carmen Miranda Park, parallel to Aterro, and did a heavy workout. The day was cloudy with some drizzle, but not enough to deter me from exercising. When I arrived home, Nalva had already gone to work, and Yasmin was still asleep.

I tidied the kitchen and made a black tea with lime juice, garlic, and cinnamon. Yasmin woke up at about eleven am; she wanted to search Google for local tattoo and piercing studios to find out about the piercing she wanted for her birthday.

I found two studios within walking distance, so we left in the rain to please her; she was so determined and involved in having her ear pierced; how could I deny her? Both places were closed, and the rain was getting heavier and the streets wetter.

When the department store closed, it sat empty for quite some time, then a group bought it and turned it into what it is today. The food court is on the top floor with a stunning view of Guanabara Bay, Niteroi and the Yacht Club, exactly in front of the shopping centre.

As I love boats, it is always interesting to see if any new boats are in the Bay or at the Yacht Club. There is a decent pay-per-kilo restaurant where Yasmin can choose whatever she wants to eat. With the right quantity, it is not so expensive. We stopped at a cosmetic shop on our way out after having lunch to purchase a makeup gift kit for Nalva for Mother’s Day.

When we left the building, it was still raining, but the intensity had reduced. However, we still got wet on our way back home. The shopping centre is on the same street as where we live, just a kilometre away in the direction of Flamengo.

Next to our buildingis an ice cream parlour that sells açai, so I suggested to Yasmin that if she wanted, we could buy some and take it home with us. She thought it was a great idea, so we had some açai when we got back.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and watching something online. Nalva arrived home at about 7 pm; we opened a bottle of wine to relax. Even though my nerves were a bit tense, we all watched a film and everything went well!

Nobody died!

In bed by 11 pm; it is Saturday, so ok!

Thank you very much.
