Journalled on Friday, 10th of March 2023 | Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 30 degrees, hot, sunny and slightly overcast.
Even though I went to bed late the night before, I was determined to get up early for a good workout.
I cannot stress enough how much my life has changed since I began exercising regularly.
I used to be somewhat active, but I didn’t fully appreciate the benefits of exercise until recently. I tried going to the gym in the past, but it never really stuck for more than six months to a year. Part of this was because I never felt like I fit in with the gym culture and group mentality.
When you join a gym, it can feel like you’re obligated to become part of a group and deal with the politics and gossip that come with it. This can cause you to lose sight of your goals and why you started going to the gym in the first place.
However, exercising regularly and proactively for the long term has been a game-changer for me.
It may seem a little extreme, and I’m not saying I’m antisocial, but sometimes it can be exhausting to always try to fit in and please others. It’s not always good for your well-being, and there’s always a risk of being misunderstood, which can lead to serious problems.
Besides, trying to be nice all the time can be a lot of hard work. When it comes to working out, I’m surprised to have found a routine that actually excites me. It’s no longer a chore, but instead something I look forward to and find myself needing more and more.
It’s essential to find your own way of working out and feel good about yourself!
In bed by 9 p.m.
Thanks again.
