Friday, the 9th of June 2023: “From Teaching to Creating: A Freelance Teacher and Entrepreneur”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 25 °C, hot and sunny.

It’s Friday and, technically, the start of a long weekend.

If I were a civil servant in Brazil, I would be free to travel or do nothing at all. However, as a freelance teacher, I am always at my students’ beck and call.

If it’s necessary to reschedule a missed class, provide an extra class, or hold regular classes on a Friday, I don’t mind, because it’s part of my job. However, it can be challenging when I’m tired or when it’s a bank holiday.

In truth, this Friday I have a few classes, with the first at nine in the morning, so I can quickly go out and do a good workout to start the day well. I have often mentioned that a good, healthy morning routine with exercise puts you on another level for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately, it is taking longer than expected, but I am not too concerned as it is Yasmin’s birthday week. I must do the same for six other brands over the next few weeks. I don’t want to spend as much time on the different brands as I do on Place Beads.

The act of creating is so gratifying to see what you are developing and finally have created come to fruition. In turn, people voluntarily recognise and appreciate your creation as something extraordinary. And when we create something, and it has been launched, we are back to zero again; it is time to look forward to creating something else.

For example, when I publish a new photo on Instagram, at that exact moment, I am very happy and proud of what I have done; a day later, I am still content with the creation that I am responsible for, but to a lesser degree, so then it is necessary for a new creation.

It is an endless and, in some ways, ungrateful and unhappy circular process of always needing to produce more or better whilst at the same time giving less and less importance to what has already been made.

My father would always wear a black onyx ring and nothing else. I neither wear rings nor necklaces or chains; I only like bracelets, which I have been wearing since I was young.

For the last ten years, I have been wearing a combination of one, two or sometimes three beaded bracelets. Each bracelet comes in various configurations of large or small beads or a mix of both, as well as various colours, which I love.

Whether you prefer your bracelets to fit snugly or loosely on your wrist, the decision is entirely up to you. You can wear one, two, or three bracelets together, and these days, I personally like to wear two bracelets at all times.

Occasionally, I switch out one bracelet for the other, but I always wear two together. Sometimes I feel that one is not enough and three are too many, but it is to each person’s taste. The combinations look very good and, depending on the occasion, are quite different and versatile.

Many people have asked me in the street or at a social event where I bought them if they are for some religion, faith, etc., as they call a lot of attention to it.

They are not made of any unique material or semi-precious stones; they are just made of resin, and for me, this is the point. Place, as in Placebo, is not of great significance but can make the wearer feel good, unique, and powerful, giving them the confidence to face life and its challenges.

So, Place Beads are for this: something inexpensive and simple that can make people feel good. If we can make people feel good, we can make money. Besides all of this, the idea is to build the brand with social entrepreneurship, which is good for everyone.

A GOOD CREATIVE DAY!!!

In bed by 11 pm.
