In the past, people were only required to work from noon on the Wednesday after carnival if they had to return to work that day.
However, during my time running the school, I tried to hold classes on Wednesday afternoons, but no one ever showed up. In some other carnivals, the school only opened on Thursdays.
Nowadays, most people return to work on Thursday, and if they’re lucky, they may not have to work until the following Monday.
I had planned to start teaching at 7 a.m., but no one showed up. Everyone was still in carnival mode, and it wasn’t the right time to study, work, or speak English. Instead of working, I exercised, watched some old films, and started reading a new book.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a fictional book, but I’m really enjoying it. When I first picked it up, I meant to read just a few pages, but it was so good I ended up reading over fifty before bed.
Now that carnival is over, I feel pressure to do something good with my life. After a year and a half of hard studying, I must put that knowledge into action and make money. Even if it’s something small, I need to start now.
Taking action is the only way to achieve something positive and productive. Even though I’m scared, I need to break through the wall and move forward, even if it means walking in the dark. Many situations in life we can only face alone.
We need to take action and never give up!
