Monday, the 17th of April 2023-5 Days to My Birthday: “Finding Balance: The Importance of Improvisation and a Good Routine”!!!

Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 27 °C, a little hot, sunny and slightly cloudy.

Beginning the week broke, but well!!! No time to go out and exercise in the morning, but a short session at home is good enough.

We live in a world of two extremes, where it is or it is not, where there seems to be no shades of grey nowadays.

There is a middle, a balance. Even when a good or ideal workout should be at least an hour and a half, it is still excellent and worth it if you can only do twenty minutes or half an hour. Doing a twenty-minute workout is better than doing nothing; it is all worth it. Whether it is 20, 40, or 50 minutes, or a full workout, it is all proactive in our cause.

Suppose we can take this lesson into everyday life. In that case, we can understand that, no matter the circumstances, we can improvise and take advantage of the situation to better ourselves or meetour needs. Improvisation is one of the most essential traits a person can have, alongside the obvious ones such as honesty and integrity.

Everything in life is not what it seems, or what we believe it to be, or what we think it is. Going out with the most beautiful person at school had its flaws. The dream job we have been preparing for so long has flaws.

A goal that has taken a lot out of us to reach has its drawbacks. Looking back, you see that what you had imagined resembled little of what you have now, or of the struggle, hard work, and the seemingly endless need to improvise throughout the journey. And the journey that seems never-ending.

There are only two possibilities: you continue this long and windy walk, which sometimes blows you off your feet, and consequently, you have to pick yourself up. Even when it is difficult to get up, and nobody is there to help, you have to get up or give up. And if you give up, everything stops, the wind, the difficulties, everything. Everything achieved before also stops and, in some cases, ceases to exist.

Half an hour of exercise, making the bed, tidying my bedroom and the flat and organising my desk. Put the clothes to be washed, take down and fold the already-dry clothes, and either make tea or coffee.

I am drinking more tea than coffee at the moment, either black or green tea with lime juice, ginger, cinnamon, and a piece of garlic. I do not put garlic in the black tea, but in the green tea, yes.

It is good; the taste is excellent, and sometimes I let the tea cool for 10 to 15 minutes before drinking. While it is cooling down, I am online checking the news, emails, messages, and photos.

When all this is done without hurry, I can shower, dress and be ready for the first class. It is so gratifying to start the day well. The day continued with a series of classes, followed by lunch, a new school marketing campaign, and more classes.

Although I am slowly changing my routine, having a good routine is essential for achieving future success. While on your journey, you can make small adjustments to improve your routine, your life, and your overall outcome.

In bed by 9 p.m.
