Journalled on Thursday, 13th of April 2023 | Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 27 degrees, warm and Sunny.
It is Thursday, and I’m usually tired. The accumulation of classes starts to hit me on Thursdays.
Even so, I am happy because I finished another book. I have read two books in less than a month, and I am loving it.
Dona Vera, a pupil over 80, has a daughter living in Australia. Cristiana, her daughter, visited her mother for the first time in a month after the pandemic. Her mother was thrilled that her daughter came to spend time with her in Rio.
When Cristiana left to return to Australia, she left me three books she had read while she was here.
I love reading, but because I work so much and teach classes, I have never developed a strong habit of reading for pleasure. Since both Jessica and Yasmin read a lot, I thought it would be a good idea for me to read too, since my daughters were setting an example that should be the other way around.
A month ago, I started reading the first of the three novels Cristiana had left for me. It was a police suspense story that took me about two weeks to finish, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. After I finished the first book, I took a short break from reading for two or three days and then started the second book, which was a drama.
The drama started slowly but became thoroughly engaging towards the end. I enjoy studying and observing how writers convey their ideas so we can learn something new and appreciate their work.
Reading and exercise are becoming addictions for me. My third addiction is to make serious money from online work. This is my constructive third addiction for my personal New Year, which begins on my birthday, the 22nd of April.
Replacing old toxic habits with new healthy ones feels great, especially when they happen naturally, without feeling forced or pressured. You wake up one day and realise you are no longer the person you were before.
You have become a better version of yourself, and that feeling of reward comes not from others outside, but from within you!!!
I’ve made significant lifestyle changes in the past year and a half.
I’ve quit drinking, started exercising regularly, lost at least 10 kilos, gained around 3 kilos of muscle, established a healthier routine, and found more joy in teaching my craft.
Moreover, I have completed 12 online courses in digital work, and I am prepared and motivated to achieve even greater financial success. Looking back, I see that the transformation has begun, but I want much more. I deserve more, and my family deserves more, too!
It was a good, productive day. All the classes were given, the book was finished, and the exercise was done. I’m feeling good, so I’ll keep it up.
In bed by 10.30 p.m.
Thank you.
Thanks for reading my blog. Check out my other posts and share your thoughts in the comments.
