Starting a Healthier Routine | One Year of Progress

Journalled on Thursday, 16 February 2023 | Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro: 35 degrees, boiling with a clear sky.

I woke up at 4:30 a.m., made my bed, got dressed and headed out to the street by 5.

On my way to exercise at the end of Leme, I stopped at the 24-hour luncheonette on the corner of my street to buy a cafezinho.

I always enjoy having a cup of coffee while on my way there. I make it a habit to tip those who serve me at bars, restaurants, or bakeries to show my appreciation.

After a heavy workout, I take a refreshing shower and have a cup of green tea. I am ready to work by 8 a.m. I will meet a pupil for coffee at 10 a.m., followed by online classes at 11 a.m.

In the afternoon, I did a bit of studying, not as much as I would have liked, as I was still feeling a little lazy due to the run-up to the carnival, but despite this, things are still getting done. I had a short talk with Nalva and Yasmin about money, and everything is good.

More and more, I’m prioritising a healthier routine. One year ago, I began working out regularly. The sessions at the end of Leme were not very effective or complete; they were very weak. Now, after one year, the sessions are much better, to the point that people approach me and ask if I am a personal trainer or a professional.

They also express their admiration for doing it outdoors and for its inspirational effect on them. Now I can’t go two days without exercising.

JUST BEGIN! INVESTING TIME, EFFORT, AND WILLPOWER CAN MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON!

When it comes to starting a new job or side hustle, many of us hesitate to take the plunge, even when it’s necessary or something we really want to do that is essential to the people around us.

It’s like starting a new exercise routine. At first, you might feel raw, terrible, and not good at it, but with time and dedication, you will improve and eventually be unable to live without it.

So, don’t be afraid to start something new and different, even if you’re not perfect at first; that is normal. Just commit to it and watch yourself grow and improve over time.

JUST START!  JUST DO IT!   JUST GO AHEAD AND DON’T LOOK BACK!

Do something different that is outside your routine and comfort zone; the results will surprise you!

The fridge has 3 bottles of perfectly chilled wine. I was seriously tempted to open at least one, but I had to control myself.

In bed by 9 p.m.

Thank you.
